
New hybrid engine with 130 horsepower
The fourth generation Toyota Yaris was launched in 2020, and to celebrate its 4th anniversary, the Japanese manufacturer has not yet planned a restyling! However, the famous city car made in France offers a good dose novelty of 2024both under the hood and in terms of on-board technology.
The range of engines for the Yaris is enriched by the appearance of the engine 1.5-liter self-charging hybrid with a capacity of 130 horsepower, which complements the already existing 116-horsepower unit. This Hybrid 130 engine is distinguished by a new hybrid gearbox with a more powerful electric motor-generator with a capacity of 62 kW instead of 59 kW.
The Power Control Unit (PCU) has also been optimized, allowing it to offer 12% more power, with 130 horsepower (96 kW) overall, and +30% more torque from its electric motor, going from 141 to 185 Nm. In practice, from 0 to 100 km/h is carried out in 9.2 seconds (i.e. 0.5 seconds better), while acceleration from 80 to 120 km/h is now covered in 7.5 seconds, all with CO2 emissions ranging from 87 to 98 g/km depending on finish and consumption ranging from 3.9-4.3 l/100 km according to the WLTP mixed cycle.
Toyota Yaris 2024: new technologies on board
Inside, the 2024 Toyota Yaris offers a new digital instrument panel adjustable for the driver, 7 or 12.3 inches depending on the version, and a a new, faster and more powerful multimedia system, equipped with 9 or 10.5-inch touch screens, depending on the version. There Smart Digital Key available as standard on the Première trim and as an option on the GR Sport trim, it allows users to access and start the vehicle using a compatible smartphone.
THE Toyota T-Mate driver assistance systems enriched with the arrival of acceleration assist, proactive driving assistance, a new camera and radar that can scan further and wider than before, and the PCS collision warning system is now able to detect motorcycles in addition to pedestrians, cyclists and other objects and vehicles.
Aesthetically, the 2024 Toyota Yaris offers new alloy wheels, new seat upholstery, and even new exterior colors, including a new Neptune Blue.
On the price side, the Toyota Yaris 2024 with the Hybrid 130 engine is presented from €30,450 in the GR Sport finish.
