The 75-year-old British monarch was seen arriving at the service on Sunday morning – a day after thanking supporters for their messages of recovery.

The King gave a brief wave as he made his way to St. Mary Magdalene’s Church, holding an umbrella, accompanied by Queen Camilla. He was then greeted by Reverend Paul Williams before going inside.

The royal is recuperating at his estate in Sandringham, Norfolk, after publicly announcing his illness and undergoing his first cancer treatment earlier last week.

Doctors advised the king to postpone his public duties for the duration of his treatment.

On Wednesday, the king held his weekly audience with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak by phone rather than in person, although it was unclear whether it was a one-off audience or would continue.

Buckingham Palace did not reveal more details about the king’s illness, but said it was not prostate cancer.

Prime Minister Sunak said that the king’s illness was “fortunately caught in time.”

The monarch was seen in public for the first time since the news of his cancer on Tuesday, when he and the Queen were escorted from Clarence House to Buckingham Palace after a brief meeting with Harry, the Duke of Sussex, the monarch’s youngest son, who had flown in specially from the United States. The couple were then flown by helicopter to Sandringham and Prince Harry returned home to the US.
