Luciano Darderi made the surprise of the day at the “ATP 250” tournament in Cordoba (Argentina), the athlete from Italy defeated Sebastian Baez (current champion) in the semifinals.

Sebastian Baez defeated Luciano Darderi in the ATP semifinals in Cordoba

Baez (26 ATP, 2nd favourite) won the 2023 Argentina tournament after 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 in the final against Federico Coria.

136th in the world ranking Darderi (21 years old) won after two hours and 22 minutes of play with a score of 6-1, 3-6, 6-3.

Luciano will fight in the first ATP final of his career with Facundo BaƱez (207 ATP), who knocked out another finalist last year: 6-3, 7-5 with Federico Coria (93 ATP).

Bagnis (33 years old) reached the final stage of the ATP tournament only once (Santiago 2021).

The Cordoba Open will take place from February 5 to 11, 2024. The tournament is held on clay, is in the “ATP 250” category and has a total prize fund of $562,345. The reigning champions are Argentine Sebastian Baez (singles), Maximo Gonzalez and Andres Molteni (doubles).
