Phil Foden’s hat-trick gave Manchester City victory

At Brentford, Manchester City took the lead from the 31st minute through a goal from Neil Mopay.

In first-half extra time, Phil Foden restored parity with a shot from inside the box after a defensive error.

The City midfielder was unstoppable in the second half and goals in the 53rd and 70th minutes gave him his second career hat-trick.

Taking advantage of Liverpool’s defeat, Pep Guardiola’s side are closing in on the leaders by two points, which they can overtake if they win the rest of their games.
