In a message published on Klitschko’s Telegram channel, it is noted that thanks to Zaluzhny, Ukrainians really believed in the country’s armed forces and that the general had to go through “too many difficult moments” since the beginning of the Russian invasion.

“But, unfortunately, today is a time when politics can be higher than common sense and the interests of the state. And this moment does not depend on Zaluzhny. I hope that the government understands the seriousness of the steps it is taking now and full responsibility. Because today, when Ukraine is literally fighting for its existence, the main thing is the effectiveness of the struggle and the coherence of the army and the unity of society,” Klitschko wrote.

In his opinion, the company is not sure that “the shake-up was announced by tips.”

“And this must be taken into account (…) Stop political intrigues and feuds. Today we have to fight for only one thing – for the victory of Ukraine,” concluded the mayor of Kyiv.

Zelensky confirmed rumors that he is considering the possibility of dismissing General Zaluzhnyi

His comments came after President Zelenskyi confirmed for the first time that he was considering firing Zaluzhny, as well as other high-ranking Ukrainian officials.

“This is a question that concerns the people who are supposed to lead Ukraine,” the Ukrainian president said in an interview with Italian public broadcaster RAI, responding to a question about the increasing number of reports that he is going to fire Zaluzhny.

“A reboot is needed, I’m talking about replacing a number of state leaders, not only in the military sphere. I am considering this replacement. This is a question for the entire leadership of the country,” Volodymyr Zelenskyi said in an interview with RAI, which was broadcast on Sunday.

As for Klitschko, the former boxer expressed his support for the army commander in early December last year, after Zaluzhny hinted that Kyiv’s summer offensive had failed.

“He told the truth,” Klitschko said in an interview with Swiss media. “Sometimes people don’t want to hear the truth, but in the end it matters,” said the mayor of Kyiv, trying to explain the current tension in the country.

“People ask why we weren’t better prepared for this war, why Zelenskyy denied until the end that it would come to this,” Klitschko said in the interview in question, adding that the Ukrainian president is now paying for some of the mistakes that he did
