After DS, Mercedes and even Volkswagen, it’s Peugeot’s turn to officially announce ChatGPT integrationgenerative artificial intelligence from OpenAI, to vehicles.
The main goal of this integration is to improve the communication between the driver and the vehicle with the help of AI capable of creating not only texts, but also images.
Soon you will be able to communicate with your Peugeot
Currently, voice assistants can sometimes struggle to understand instructions correctly, creating “lags” compared to smartphone assistants. Peugeot aims to solve this problem by offering a smoother conversational service using generative artificial intelligence. This system can be used to easily control the infotainment, navigation and air conditioning system, but he will also be able to get answers to general questions by searching his sources directly on the Internet.
Peugeot mentions a kind of enrichment of conversations, as well as the ability to quickly answer questions, while the driver does not feel obliged, for example, to pick up his phone to dial a request. Then you can ask, for example, the weather forecast, ask general questions, or even ask for information about a place or monument that you might encounter on your route.
At what price?
Before rolling out ChatGPT at Peugeot by the end of 2024 in five key markets, namely France, Germany, Spain, Italy and the UK, there will be a testing phase that will involve 5,000 volunteer customersand participating vehicles must be equipped with “Peugeot Connect” to access this service.
However, one question remains unanswered: the cost of this service. During the testing phase, Peugeot will offer this service for free, but after market launch, the French manufacturer plans to pay for it as an option or even as a subscription.
