Stefanos Tsitsipas wants to win a Grand Slam and a medal at the 2024 Olympics

Ranked 10th in the ATP rankings (after an early exit from the Australian Open), Tsitsipas will use the Greece-Romania (Davis Cup) match as preparation for the Olympic Games in Paris.

“My goal this year is to win a Grand Slam and an Olympic medal. It means a lot to me. Competing with my brother Petros at the Olympic Games in Paris is one of the dreams of my life.” Stefanos Tsitsipasquoted by PuntoDeBreak.

“What makes us very strong together as a pair is that Stefanos is a super athlete and I, for my part, am a player who has a very good vision on the pitch” – Petros Tsitsipas.

Stefanos’ relationship with his father has since soured, but now they appear to be getting along well, with the two-time Grand Slam finalist (Roland Garros 2021 and Australian Open 2023) praising those who coach him.

“Dad and I always shared tennis, that was what we had in common. When he’s not with me, I feel like a part of who I am as a player is lost. At various points in the past, he wasn’t with me and I felt like half a player.

Sometimes I don’t speak well of him, but he’s the only person who understands me, and that’s part of the job. The good part is that we can separate the parenting part from the coaching part” – Stefanos Tsitsipas.

For his part, Apostolos talked about his relationship with Stephanos and warned his sons’ future opponents.

“I think it is very important to be a good father, to give him the right advice. In terms of coaching, I have evolved over the years. We have learned to overcome difficulties and troubles.

The relationship between them is getting stronger, especially now that they can play together. They want to achieve what they dreamed of, and I think they are on the right track” – Apostolos Tsitsipas.
