FC Botosani dramatically defeated Poli Iasi 2:1 in the match of the 24th round of the Romanian Super League on Friday.

Poly Iasi played 6 matches in a row without success away from home in the championship.

The Leo Grozavu-coached formation got tangled up at bottom-placed FC Botosani at the end of a match controlled at the top by the men from Iasi.

Sagiri Hamza opened the scoring for the new team (min. 28) with a powerful shot that Dukan could not save.

Buenna had a chance to make it 2-0 in extra time in the first half, but Dukan headed it off the post.

In the second half of the game, Enzo Lopez (min. 56) equalized for Botosani, the Argentine managed to score in his debut for Moldova. Success was confirmed after VAR consultation.

Iasi came close to scoring again at the end of the match, with a header by Georgitsa, but the hosts scored in the end.

Entering the field in the 88th minute, Muaddib shot into the crossbar, set up by Bohdan Andone, who, at least for a moment, broke free from last place.
