The Peugeot 3008 is back!

A true bestseller and perennial goose that lays golden eggs, the 3008 SUV sets the benchmark in its segment. After the first generation was introduced as a minivan in 2009, its second generation, launched in 2016, outlasted the competition with its bold styling, ultra-modern interior and numerous technologies. It has long been one of the best-selling models in France, and the benchmark among SUVs: the Renault Kadjar was a true competitor! But with Renault replacing its Kadjar with the all-new Austral in 2022 and preparing to launch its electric Scénic this year, the Lion has responded and is ready! Peugeot actually presented at the beginning of the 2023 academic year a completely new version (third generation) of the 3008 SUV ! It is quite original to emphasize this, it was presented for the first time in a 100% electric version, under the name e-3008, then in a hybrid version. The brand has really made a difference with the old generation, as it now sports a much more “fastback” coupé silhouette than before (electricity is required to maximize energy efficiency), and draws a line under its purely thermal engines (especially diesel).

Big brother 5008 is coming…

But the 3008 would be nothing without its big brother, the 5008! A version with an extended wheelbase, more habitable and more spacious (up to 7 people), he has been working with 3008 since his debut in 2009. After revealing the third 3008 under the name, we will soon know what the new 5008 looks like! Unsurprisingly, this will be a less aerodynamic version than the 3008 to maximize space and on-board space. On board, as on the 3008, the famous lion i-Cockpit will remain, but modernized and improved: large 21-inch curved screen will sit in the center of the dashboard! how he it will initially be presented in a 100% electric version, the e-5008. It will be based on the STLA Medium electric platform and will be available in two battery sizes: 73 or 98 kWh. What I hope to reach 700 kilometers of autonomy ! As for the engine, and according to the information already leaked about it, it will develop 210 and 230 hp. in the two-wheel drive version, as well up to 320 hp for the full twin-engine version. Like its younger sibling, it will also be offered with a “mild hybrid” petrol engine, a 1.2L Puretech unit mated to an electric motor that will develop 136 horsepower.

When will we be able to see it with our own eyes? Fine ! Peugeot has just announced that the new 5008 will be launched at the end of March! So, the deadline is not that far away…
