Audi Q7 (2024): a new generation is missing, here is a new restyling News Auto Plus in your smartphone News Auto Plus in your inbox

The second generation Audi Q7 hit our roads in 2015 and this year its career will not end yet. Normally, a car’s life cycle lasts about seven years, but with the electrification of mileage and the pandemic, the cards have been shuffled.

So we’re seeing cars that live longer, like the Q7, who celebrates his nine-year career this year. The German SUV was entitled to a very serious restyling in 2019, and today a second one, less significant, but which in general allows it to still be competitive against the Mercedes GLE and the other BMW X5.

Quite restrained changes

As you can see in the photo, the Audi Q7 does not transform. The front part received a shield with thinner vertical inlets and a grille with redesigned contours and grille. It is now connected to the optics, which have also been slightly redesigned, with the integration of an LED matrix throughout the range and a laser function as an option, as in the Audi R8. The taillights use OLED technology with four different light signatures. The lower part of the shield has also evolved somewhat.
within, he who manages to detect changes is very intelligent. Already significantly redesigned during the 2019 restyling, it remains identical except for a few details, such as certain decorative elements or even inserts made of new materials. Look out for new apps like Spotify or Amazon music. Still looks well made and technologically up to date despite being almost ten years old.

Audi Q7 restyling: engines

In terms of engines, it’s the status quo, with the valiant 3.0-liter TDI V6 from 286 hp as an entry level. This engine was then joined by two plug-in hybrids, the 55 TFSI e and 60 TFSI e, the specifications of which are currently unknown. We can well imagine the presence of a new battery increase the electric range by more than 100 kmenough to do as well as its main competitors.
For lovers of large powerful SUVs, the Audi SQ7 is updated, but not in diesel. Thus we find the big block V8 4.0 liter TFSI 507 hpwhich will apparently be eligible for a hefty €60,000 fine in France in 2024, even though Audi says it is “will be able to work on four cylinders”. You’ll have to pay from €130,500 for this SQ7 in France, so over €200,000 with options and penalty.

The Q7 in its basic 50 TDI version starts with 89,500 euros.
