Yannick Sinner won the 2024 Australian Open after coming from 0-2 down against Daniil Medvedev, the Italian winning in a final that lasted three hours and 44 minutes. Shortly after the end of the match at Rod Laver Arena, Rafael Nadal sent Yannick a message via social media.

Sinner outlasted Medvedev, 3-6, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3, and minutes after his victory, the Italian received a message from Rafael Nadal.

The Iberian congratulated Yannick via a message posted on his personal Facebook account.

“Great, Ian! Great tournament, your first Grand Slam. Congratulations to you, your team, your family and your country! Italy won today with you,” – Rafael Nadal.
