Two-wheeled inspection: good news for motorcyclists Auto Plus news in your smartphone Auto Plus news in your inbox

If you have your own car, a technical inspection is a strictly mandatory procedure to make sure it is in good condition. And therefore it is absolutely safe to drive without endangering other road users. But soon it will not only apply to cars.

A grumble that continues

And it is not for nothing that from April next year, the government will also introduce mandatory technical inspection for all two-wheelers. An event that caused great dissatisfaction among those who are mainly interested, and especially motorcyclists. So, FFMC (French Federation of Angry Bikers) has been holding actions and other demonstrations for several months without any real success. And it is not for nothing that the commitment will really come into force as planned, despite numerous court appeals. However, two-wheeler owners can still take a breather thanks to the good news they just received. The latest comes to us from Mutuelle des Motards, an insurance company specializing in motorcycles and scooters. And this is a message to all those who have decided to boycott the inspection in the coming months. And this time it’s really good news.

Always covered

In a press release, the latter indicates that it will continue to cover two-wheeler owners even if they choose not to undergo MOT. In fact, it indicates that ” with or without a technical review there is mutual benefit. At Mutuelle des Motards, we will naturally continue to support you whether it is worth signing a contract or in the event of an accident. […] A technical inspection is not a condition for the application of our guarantees in accordance with our general and special conditions. Therefore, with or without a MOT, Mutuelle des Motards will be well rewarded“. However, she clarifies that ” as an experienced insurer, Mutuelle des Motards is and will always remain vigilant in all matters of prevention and promotion of safety free and shared use of the road in two or three motorized wheels“. As such, he still invites drivers to take the test, clarifying, however, that only 0.3% of accidents involve a vehicle in poor condition.
