CFR Cluj is going through a not-so-successful period after losing to FC Botosani (1-0), but now the Transylvanians have a new squad after parting with Andrea Mandorlini.

CFR Cluj turned down 1.5 million euros for Philippe Otele

Adrian Mutu became the new coach of the CFR Cluj team, replacing Andrea Mandorlini on the technical bench.

Mutu had his sights set on winning the title with Transylvania, but CFR needs quality players to do so.

Philippe Otele is one of them and financier Nelutu Varga is doing his best to keep the player with 8 goals and 4 assists this season.

The CFR boss said he had received an offer of €1.5 million from Turkey for the 24-year-old, but stressed that he would not leave Gruja for less than €4 million.

“I spoke to Adi Mutu and explained to him the situation with Otele. I told him to keep calm, that I would not let Otele go to Turkey for the 1,500,000 euros he was being offered.

Oh, if they change the offer and offer me from 4,000,000 euros and more, then I would consider a possible departure. But now I rejected their offer.

Otele is a valuable player and I will never sell him for a small fee. I believe that Adi Mutu will make a strong team, and the final fight for the title will take place in the playoffs.” – said Nelutsu Varga, Prosport reports.
