
Former national team player Andrii Shevchenko was elected president of the Football Federation of Ukraine (UAF) on Thursday. His mandate is for five years.

For the first time, Shevchenko holds a high management position. At the 26th extraordinary congress of the UAF, he received 93 votes.
The winner of the “Golden Ball” in 2004 was also the national team of Ukraine from 2016 to 2021.
The former Ukrainian player was also the coach of the Genoa team in the 2021-2022 season.
During his football career, Andriy Shevchenko played for Kyiv “Dynamo”, “Milan” and “Chelsea”. Scored 235 goals in 497 matches for club teams and 48 goals for the national team of Ukraine (111 matches).
