
Online gaming company Kindred Group, which owns sports betting operator Unibet, has changed hands after officials admitted it had received an all-cash takeover offer from French group La Francese des Jeux (FDJ), the French lottery. The offer was announced before the market opened on Monday, Kindred said in a statement, noting that FDJ will acquire all of its outstanding shares.
The Wall Street Journal first reported the deal, which it said could be valued at around $2.5 billion. In August 2023, FDJ completed the acquisition of Premier Lotteries Ireland, the national lottery operator, for €350 million ($381.40 million).
