Aymeric Laporte, the former Manchester City defender, has announced that he is “disappointed” with his experience in Saudi Arabia after joining Al Nassr (a team-mate of Cristiano Ronaldo).
Aymeric Laporte says he is not satisfied with his work experience in Saudi Arabia
The Spanish footballer arrived at Al-Nassr at the end of August and says that “many players are unhappy” with the situation at various Saudi clubs. For Laporte, reception and management of daily affairs were not necessarily optimal.
“They did not make our task easier. In fact, many players are unhappy, but we are working every day, negotiating, so to speak, and we will see if the situation improves a little.
It is also something new for them, because they have European players who already have a long career. Maybe they are not used to it and they need to adapt, be a little more serious” – Aymeric Laportein an interview for AS.
According to Laporte, Saudi officials are “taking everything lightly”, and a departure is not excluded if the situation does not improve. The defender lives in a complex in Riyadh and also complained about “traffic jams and wasted time in the car.”
“They take care of us, but not enough for my taste. In other words, in Europe they pay a good salary, but they also take care of you much better.
To be honest, many of us didn’t just come here for football. Many of us are satisfied, but I am looking for something other than the financial aspect. In terms of quality of life, I expected something different” – Aymeric Laporte.
