Sepsi Sfântu Gheorghe came close to the podium after the first match in 2024.

The Romanian Cup and Super Cup winners clearly beat Poli Iasi late in the match under the control of Covasneni.

The home team opened the scoring in the 19th minute of the game by Stefanescu, and Cosmin Matei (36th minute) shot from 11 meters.

6 minutes later, Peun extended Sepsi’s lead in a phase when he capitalized on a wrong clearance from Jassa.

After the break, Sepsi continued his assault on the visitors’ goal, and Kallaku (min. 63) scored 3:0 with a deflected shot.

In the 85th minute, Stefanescu scored again, and Mihai Balasha scored the final goal (88th minute) from the penalty spot.
