After the presentation of the SUV “08” last year, the Chinese firm is preparing its new model: a plug-in hybrid sedan called Lynk & Co 07 EM-P, also known by the code name L743. It has already been announced with a series of official teaser photos, still camouflaged, in anticipation of its presentation scheduled for this first quarter of 2024.
We discover this new model in the snow-covered plains and mountains of northern China, undergoing winter tests in extreme temperature conditions that can reach -40°C.
Lynk & Co 07 EM-P: futuristic and sophisticated design
Despite the colorful camouflage coating with the “07” logo pattern, we can easily guess its design, which is part of a new stylistic language of the brand, represented by the concept car Lynk & Co The Next Day.
We find refined futuristic lines, with a front that is devoid of a grille, but which stands out for its own multi-segment light signature, integrated into the shield and extending along the hood to the wings, as well as an air intake in the lower part of the shield. The door handles are flush and retractable, and the rims have a sporty style. The rear pillar provides for the presence of a floating roof, as well as a “shark fin” body design element.
The launch is inevitable in 2024
Lynk & Co 07 EM-P will be based on CMA Evo platformwhich is shared with Volvo and developed for hybrid vehicles such as the SUV 08. Lynk & Co is a joint venture established in 2016 by Geely and Volvo, and there are many joint efforts within the group’s various brands.
If this sedan uses the same mechanics as the Lynk & Co 08, we should find two options for battery hybrid engines, 381 horsepower (electric motor connected to a heat engine 1.5 l) and 593 horsepower (two electric motors connected to a 1.5-liter heat engine), as well as two levels of battery capacity, 21.2 kWh and with 39.8 kWh.
Production of the Lynk & Co 07 EM-P will begin in the month February 2024and the new hybrid sedan should be officially unveiled soon.
