New car registrations in the EU increased from 9.25 million units in 2022 to 10.5 million last year. The largest increase was observed in electricity: from 1.12 million to 1.53 million.
In automotive groups, Volkswagen occupies 26% of the market, Stellantis almost 18%, Renault. up to 11%. Among brands, Volkswagen occupies 10.9% of the market, Toyota – 6.5%, Renault – 6%, BMW – 5.6%. Dacia achieved a share of 4.9%, out of 519,000 vehicles delivered in the EU.
Which brands grew the most last year? Tesla Motors climbed 89% to 279,000 vehicles, while Suzuki climbed 43%. Alfa Romeo increased sales by 56%, as did Lexus, but these are brands with a market share of less than one percent.
Cupra sales increased by 36%, and Jeep – by 23%. Compared to 2022, Mazda increased volumes by 34%, and Smart – by 35%.
Among the mass brands, Skoda rose by 26% to 580,000 vehicles, with a similar percentage increase for Nissan (to 195,000).
Sales of which brands have decreased? Fiat and Citroen fell by 2-3%, and Ford – by 4.6%. Two smaller brands experienced significant declines: Mitsubishi (-25%) and Honda (-18%)
