“90% of them were included in the current year’s budget. It was normal that we did not have time to promote them as resolutions within three or four days,” said Çolaku, admitting that the government should have known and anticipated these problems.

However, he criticized the protesters, saying they should have come to the government for talks first and then started street protests if they were not satisfied.

Cholaku spoke about the RCA problem, saying that a solution needs to be found and that the ASF president has held discussions with the carriers and found the amendments that the ASF president envisions.

“It seems to me a lot like RCA right now, but together we find the best solution. I can’t bankrupt the insurers. But there is a balance, you cannot double RCA from 9,000 to 18,000. This is already too much!”, the prime minister said on Antena 3.

Protesters, farmers and transporters with dozens of trucks and cars continue to block some entrances to the port of Constanţa Sud – Agigea, calling on social networks to increase their number.

Agricultural and Cooperation Alliance (AAC) farmer representative Marius Miku announced on Monday evening that “it will probably be decided to suspend any protest initiative” as agreement was reached on the farmers’ demands. Agriculture Minister Florin Barbu said at the same press conference that he was “waiting for all the farmers to return home” and the protocols he had made with the farmers’ representatives would be accepted and respected by him.

Protests by truckers and farmers continued Monday for a sixth straight day after talks broke down over the weekend. In the town of Afumatsi in the Ilfov county, traffic was restricted on the first lane in both directions, the road was occupied by trucks. Also, thousands of trucks and tractors took to the streets and paralyzed the entrances to the country’s major cities.

After fresh talks with the government, Prime Minister Çolaku on Monday asked to speed up the development of regulations to address the problems reported by farmers and transporters.
