While the competition between manufacturers is fierce, Nicolas G., a loyal reader from Javené (35), imagined that each of them is ready to do their best to keep the customer. He had been much less convinced in recent weeks…
Smoke is coming from the engine of his Opel Mokka
Indeed, a few days before Christmas, when he had just arrived at his father-in-law’s house, Nicholas noticed a faint smoke coming from the engine compartment of his car. Opel Mokka X 1.4 Turbo 140 since 2016, which is 70,500 km. He cautiously contacted his insurer to help tow his vehicle to the nearest dealership that sold and serviced the SUV.
The latter notices a small hole in the jar coolant but before replacing that part he wants to check if the engine is damaged. Unfortunately, this is not the case, so the entire unit must be replaced. The quote is surprisingly high: 5496 euros.
Nikolas is more surprised by the response to his request for support, since Opel is leaving him 3392 euros pay. And when he asks what is his Mocha is taken from him to buy another model, he gets a much lower offer than with other brands.
Obviously, Opel doesn’t care about keeping its customers
Here is our defense strategy. Regular reader Nikolay believed that serious breakdowns and ridiculous support from manufacturers only happen to those who neglect the maintenance of their cars. His case shows the opposite!
How much should I pay for these items? If the engine of this Mokka fails malfunction of a part worth 100 eurosOpel should still take responsibility for the entire bill.
