Kilde, a double winner in 2023 at Wengen, crashed at the end of the descent at 145km/h and came to rest on the fence.

The race was stopped, and Oleksandr Aamodt Kielde was evacuated by helicopter.

The Norwegian is the owner of the crystal globe in 2020. He also finished third in the first downhill in Wengen (Thursday) and third in the super-G (Friday).

At the age of 31, Kilde also suffered a serious knee injury in January 2021.

Another serious injury took place on the slopes of the Lauberhorn on Friday: French skier Alexis Pintour suffered a season-ending injury in the super-G, tearing his anterior cruciate ligament.
