Donald Trump filed a complaint against the New York Times in September 2021, accusing three of the publication’s journalists of a “diabolical conspiracy” to obtain his tax records.

In 2018, they published an investigation that was awarded the prestigious Pulitzer Prize.

In May 2023, a New York State Supreme Court Commercial Division judge dismissed the complaint against the real estate mogul and ordered him to pay court costs.

In a new decision on Friday, the judge found the amount of legal costs estimated by The New York Times to be “reasonable” and ordered Donald Trump to pay them in full.

The investigation revealed how Trump, who claims to be self-made, actually built his fortune.

NYT reporters have shown that Donald Trump actually received the equivalent of $413 million today from his father over several years, some of which was allegedly funneled through a shell company that allowed them to avoid paying taxes.
