Today, automatic transmissions are becoming more and more common, especially on new cars. And this is all the more so because the offer of 100% electric models is increasing, with only this type of transmission, with one gear. It must be said that an automatic transmission has a lot of advantages, as it is much more practical than a manual transmission, which requires independent gear shifting. And this is above all in traffic jams that the difference is most noticeable! But that’s not all, because the automatic transmission also reduces fuel consumption thanks to optimized gear changes. But not everything is perfect either.
Inspection is theoretically mandatory for all cars. But there are models exempt from any checks! https://t.co/fLJLrlczh5

Problem models
Indeed, certain models are known to cause some problems with the gearbox. This is, for example, the case of the BMP6 robotic gearbox from Citroën and Peugeot, which was later renamed ETG6 and became a little more reliable. There is indeed premature clutch wear, as well as brittle bearings. But the two French manufacturers are not the only ones offering boxes with insufficient reliability. In fact, this also applies to Volkswagen Group brands including Seat, Skoda, Audi and Volkswagen. Actually, dual clutch transmission The DQ200 presents some problems.
Many failures
Released before 2012, this box is characterized, in particular, by noisy gear changes and worn clutch discs. THE hydraulic boxes Old ones also pose some problems, especially those installed on cars over 15 years old. This is, for example, the case of Mercedes Class A before 2004, Renault Laguna before 2005 or BMW X5 before 2003. So be careful if you buy one of these cars with an automatic transmission.
