Monster Energy has ended its 14-year partnership with the Mercedes F1 Team and signed an agreement with McLaren, according to crash.net.
Sponsor Monster Energy, from Mercedes to McLaren from 2024
The American power bat company was one of the important sponsors of Mercedes.
Starting this year, the Monsters Energy logo will appear on McLaren helmets, suits and caps.
“It was a major blow for McLaren to acquire an energy drink company from eight-time constructors’ champion Mercedes.
Lewis Hamilton is enjoying his own sponsorship deal with Monster Energy and the deal is expected to go ahead despite the company’s switch to McLaren single-seaters,” the source quoted as saying.
“Monster Energy is proud to begin this new chapter in its Formula 1 journey with McLaren Racing.
We have some really exciting programs planned with Lando and Oscar, and we’re excited to be racing in 2024,” said Rodney Sachs, President and Co-CEO of Monster Energy Company.
We will remind, Mercedes took the 2nd place in the hierarchy of manufacturers, having scored 406 points (champion RedBull has 860 points). On the other hand, McLaren finished the 2023 Formula 1 season in 4th place with 302 points.
