“Eleven dead, five of them children – these are currently the consequences of the terrorist attacks in the Pokrovsky district,” Vadym Filashkin wrote in the Telegram messenger.

Pokrovsk is located in Ukrainian-controlled territory, approximately 80 km northwest of Donetsk, the center of the Russian-controlled region.

The Russian attack was carried out by S-300 missiles. The governor did not specify the number of missiles with which Russia fired at the area, Kyiv Independent reports.

S-300 is a Soviet missile system designed for air defense. However, Russia has used the S-300 to hit targets in Ukraine, but these missiles have low accuracy.
