Born as Jidu Auto, then called Ji Yue before becoming JiYuethis new premium car brand specializing in intelligent technology has joined the ranks of the Chinese group Geelywhich for this occasion joined forces with a Chinese company Baiduspecializing in artificial intelligence.
After introducing its first model a few months ago, the JiYue 01, a 100% electric premium SUV announced under the name “Robo-01”, JiYue has just introduced its second model: a 100% electric sedan called JiYue 07. It is a new rival to the Tesla Model 3, which stands out for its particularly desirable design, having won the iF Design Award 2023 and the Red Dot Car Design Winner 2023.
JiYue 07: neat style
Resting on The SEA platform (Permanent experience of architecture) from Geely, which can be found in particular Volvo, Polestar, Smart or even Zeekr, JiYue 07 is 100% electric sedan which has clean lines. In particular, it is distinguished by the absence of door handles, replaced by hidden buttons on the door jambs.
There we find a Y-shaped light signaturetogether with JiYue 01 SUV, a large panoramic roof, or the elegant and dynamic profile of the “4-door coupe”, complemented by an active rear spoiler. Its alloy wheels are fitted with aerodynamic covers to enhance its performance.
Up to 544 horsepower and four-wheel drive
No interior photos have been released yet, but we should find a cabin similar to the JiYue 01 SUV, with a large 35.6-inch 6K touchscreen and an infotainment system enhanced withArtificial Intelligence. The new JiYue sedan will also have autonomous driving capabilities.
Under the hood we find, as on the JiYue 01, two engines : the entry-level version is equipped with a single electric motor 272 horsepowerrelated to the LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery capacity 71.4 kWh. The most powerful version has two electric motors and four-wheel drive, the total power 544 horsepowerall related to the NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt) battery 100 kW/h.
JiYue 07 will be sold in the second half of 2024 in China, and will compete with Tesla Model 3, Xiaomi SU7 and other BYD Han. At the moment, JiYue has not officially announced about possible marketing in the European market.
