The Emergency Situations Inspectorate (ISU) of Prahova rejects the accusation that the first fire engines arrived at the fire in Ferma Dacilor 40 minutes after the event was reported, the officials of the institution explain that the first rescue teams arrived 13 minutes after the call to 112. Clarification made in the context of the fact that a 16-year-old boy injured in the fire, who lost his father and two brothers in the fire, publicly stated that rescuers arrived after 40 minutes.

“Since the information is spreading in the public space, according to which the firefighters arrived at the scene 40 minutes after the call to the number 112, in order to correctly inform public opinion, the information and public relations department of ISU Prahova makes the following clarifications: the call to the number 112 was received in control room of ISU Prahova at 05:46; after the alarm, the first fire brigades arrived at the scene of intervention at 05:59 with two special fire engines, a tanker truck and a SMURD crew,” representatives of the Prahova Emergency Situations Inspectorate said on Wednesday evening, News.ro reported.

According to them, after the arrival of the first groups of rescuers, for operational management of the event, intervention forces were gradually supplemented. Finally, a total of 10 fire trucks, one personal transport truck and several casualties, 4 SMURD ambulances, 4 ambulances and command and 3 ambulances from the Prahova County Ambulance Service responded to the Tohan fire.

The clarifications provided by ISU Prahova come in the context of public information that Matej Ene, a 16-year-old boy who was injured in the fire and lost his two brothers and his father, had at the hearing said firefighters arrived 40 minutes after the building began to fill with smoke. The teenager, who escaped the fire, also told the hearing, according to some court sources, that he woke up to find the floor of the boarding house engulfed in smoke, he told his brother to follow him and came down, saying he did not know why he had stayed on the floor where died
