Nikola Kalinic started his football career at Hajduk Split, which he returned to last season and is out of contract in the summer.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, after a six-month break, the Croatian striker returned to Split and signed a five-month contract with a nominal salary of just 1 euro per month.

“It was the easiest transfer in three years in Hajduk. Kalinic’s salary is 1 euro because he came back out of love for the club.

Kalinic has only one goal: to help Hajduk win the title after a 19-year hiatus,” announced Mindaugas Nikolicius, the club’s sporting director.

The transfer was also reported on the group’s official website, where it is claimed that back in November, coach Mislav Karoglan offered the forward an individual training program before joining the team.

At the age of 35, Nikola Kalinic has such teams as “Blackburn”, “Dnipro”, “Fiorentina”, “Milan”, “Atletico Madrid”, “Roma” and “Verona” in his resume, and in the national team of Croatia he collected 42 tackles and 15 goals.
