The girl was found wandering on the street by the owner of a bar in Mondragon, who took her to his place to calm down and wait for the police to arrive, writes La Stampa.

Italian MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli made public about this case on Facebook, who says that he learned from a journalist that the girl was abandoned by her parents. The parliamentarian then contacted the police to confirm what had happened, La Stampa also noted.

  • “A terrible story that I will follow step by step. The police assured me that the child is safe with them, that the court has already started all the procedures to activate social services, find the parents and recreate what happened.
  • There is never a good reason to give up a child, it is inhumane and unacceptable. The parents of this little girl must be identified and, if the fact of refusal is confirmed, severely punished.
  • A heartbreaking story right on New Year’s Eve,” the Italian deputy wrote.

According to him, the girl said that she was kicked out of the house and thrown on the street.

The case was reported by several local publications, which write that the girl is of Romanian origin. (Photo: Dreamstime.com)
