Yamaha Motor has just announced the formation of Enyring, a new company in Berlin, Germany, which will begin operations in the first half of 2025. Germany and the Netherlands are the initial target markets, while cooperation between Yamaha Motor and strategic partner companies is envisaged.
Enyring will offer its rental of replacement batteries for compact urban electric vehicles, through subscription services, to users of e-bikes and other low-speed compact urban electric vehicles such as e.g. electric scooters.
In practice, Enyring will install variable battery stations in the city, which will contain several batteries already charged and ready for use. These batteries can be easily replaced by users at any time, eliminating the major hassles of recharging and the expense of purchasing a new battery to replace when it reaches the end of its life cycle.
Improved end-of-life battery reuse
Through its services, Enyring wants to create a closed loop in which recycled materials are used as resources to create new products. Example, used batteries which can no longer be used for mobility, reused as batteries or even recycled and reused like new batteries.
Through battery replacement services, as well as battery reuse or recycling, in cooperation with European leaders in circularity, Enyring aims to contribute to the a sustainable recycling-oriented societyand also reduce the impact on the environment by making life easier for its customers.
