When groups PSA and Fiat-Chrysler teamed up in 2021 to create Stellantis, the future of several brands was uncertain. There were 14 in all, sometimes with very different stories, philosophies and positions! In the end, all were preserved, even if several of them were probably in competition with each other. Lancia with DS, Alfa Romeo with Peugeot, Fiat with Citroën… It was necessary clarify the positioning of each, so that customers as well as distributors can navigate. The parade was long, but it was found. Alfa Romeo and Maserati are preparing their electric transition

This is especially true for Alfa Romeo and Maserati. Both are actively preparing for their electrification. Maserati is the most advanced in this area, having already abandoned the electric sauce “Folgore”, its GranTurismo sports car and Grecale SUV. Next year should see the Quattroporte sedan, which will quickly replace the current generation, as well as the shorter Ghibli. The Levante large electric SUV will follow this trend in 2025. At Alfa, which only offers the Giulia, Stelvio and Tonale (the latter being the only hybrid in the lineup), the switch is long overdue. Next year, the brand will launch the Milano, its first electric model. This is a B-segment crossover, a technical relative of the Fiat 600d and the Jeep Avenger in particular. It will be in 2025 the new generation Giulia, which will be 100% electric. Can you see where things are going wrong with Maserati?

Julia/Quattroporte: a fratricidal struggle?

Especially since they don’t play in the same league: segment D for Giulia (Series 3, A4, class C), F segment for Quattroporte (S class, A8, 7 series). but, Italian journalists of Corriere Torino report who passed on the information, ” Discussions are ongoing [chez Stellantis] on the repositioning of the group’s high-end brands to avoid overlaps between Alfa Romeo and Maserati. » It will be for engineers sedans are even more distinguished by the technical aspectbecause they share many common components. Setting up the chassis, suspension, torque, auxiliary technologies : the engineers of the two brands will have to work hard to better differentiate their future child.
