All Eurostar trains to and from London have been canceled for Saturday, the rail company said on its website, AFP reported.
“Due to flooding in the high-speed tunnel near London, we are having to cancel all trains on our route to/from London on Saturday 30 December,” Eurostar wrote.
At least 14 Eurostar trains connecting Britain and mainland Europe were canceled on Saturday morning after flooding in railway tunnels in southern England near London, stranding thousands of passengers on one of the world’s busiest weekends of the year, AFP writes.
“Both rail tunnels near Ebbsfleet International have been flooded, meaning both tunnels are closed. “No trains can run between St Pancras International, the departure and arrival station for Eurostar trains in London, and Ebbsfleet International,” the rail company said.
