Fuel: prices are rising again Auto Plus news in your smartphone Auto Plus news in your inbox

The price of fuel has always fluctuated more or less. But with the beginning of the war in Ukraine, almost two years ago, gas station prices literally soared. The reason is the drop in Russian oil exports, but not only. Because we also have to consider taxes, increased demand, as well as reduced black gold production elsewhere in the world. And that’s precisely for that keep prices high. And as always, these decisions affected motorists, who have been at a loss for several years.

A small increase

Although the prices are very high, they have come down a bit in recent weeks. Very good news for drivers as the end of year holidays and big shipments are approaching celebrate Christmas with family. But after a period of lull, prices are finally starting to rise again. Indeed, the Ministry of Eco-Transition has recorded growth that is still relatively subdued. Yes, the average price of diesel fuel in France is 1.7422 euros per liter, which is an increase of 0.8 euros for the week.

What about gasoline?

And as for gasoline, are we there? Well, here the prices have risen a little towards the end of the year. Unleaded 95 E10 is therefore priced at €1.7685 per litre, which corresponds to a slight increase of €0.4. Again, nothing dramatic here, yet the price of a barrel of Brent still remains reasonable. The latter is currently at $79.5, a slight increase of $4.1. The reason is the increase in attacks on ships in the Red Sea, which caused the interruption of sea traffic in the area.
