a few weeks ago Dacia presented its new Duster with great fanfare, already the third generation of a family SUV, which allowed the “inexpensive” brand of the Renault group to really take off in Europe. Yes, the term is in quotation marks because Dacia is now far from its old-fashioned and cheap image as the Eastern European manufacturer bought by Renault in 1999. The new Duster thus demonstrates modern adventurous look with its geometric silhouette, wide wheel arches and muscular shoulders. There’s also a revolution on board, with equipment, driving aids and presentation light years from the 2010 Duster, albeit a very correct one at the time (compared to the Logan and Sandero, we get along). The Renault group has high hopes for this new model, which should become more international than ever…

Renault will have its own Duster

We already know that The Duster will be available under the Renault brand for markets around the world. Since Dacia is not represented (and unknown) outside our European borders, the Renault badge sells more. The upcoming Renault Duster will be assembled in Bursa, Turkey (rather than Romania like its Dacia counterpart) and will be offered in most markets where Renault is present. However, priority will be given to the most promising countries, namely Brazil, South Korea, India, Morocco and Turkey. It will be modeled after its Romanian counterpart, albeit with some special hardware and chassis tweaks depending on the market. It will also be available in a pickup version like its predecessor, called Duster Oroch. Renault has already presented this future model, which could bear the name of Niagara…

“Nissan Duster” of 2025

But a third brand will soon have its own Duster: Nissan. As part of the reorganization of its global strategy, both partners Renault and Nissan intend to resume operations in India, where they already have an engineering and innovation center in Chennai. Renault will supply several models to Nissan, and vice versa : 10 models are planned a total of 5 for each brand. Including The Duster is branded by Nissan to compete with the Maruti-Suzuki Brezza and Hyundai Creta, segment leaders in the Indian market.
