Representatives of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) have offered a number of precautions and recommendations for the installation of the Christmas tree during the Christmas holidays, so that unpleasant or tragic incidents do not happen.
A decorated tree always brings the charm of Christmas holidays, but firefighters pay attention to some “essential moments” to turn these moments into real joy:
- “Carefully fix the Christmas tree away from stoves, radiators and other means of heating;
- Avoid using defective or self-made electrical installations or decorations! Choose only those that are in good condition, or refuse them altogether;
- It is forbidden to place lighted candles and other sources of fire near the Christmas tree to prevent fire;
- Turn off the lights when you leave the house.”
