
A man who abducted and raped in 2022 two sisters aged 10 and 12 from the town of Vama Buzeului in Brasov was finally sentenced to 35 years in prison on charges of illegal deprivation of liberty, rape and sexual abuse of minors. continuation, writes News.ro. Magistrates of the Court of Appeal of Brasov rejected the appeal filed by the husband, Kostyantyn Zapan, against the decision of the Brasov court in September, which sentenced him to 35 years in prison.
Zapan was found guilty of illegal deprivation of liberty, continued rape and sexual corruption of minors.
“On the basis of Art. 38 par. 1 and 39 par. 1 liter b The Criminal Code applies to the defendant the most severe basic punishment in the form of 19 years of imprisonment, to which is added a mandatory increase of one third of the other penalties applied (10 years of imprisonment, 10 years of imprisonment, 2 years of imprisonment, 15 years in prison, 7 years of imprisonment, 4 years of imprisonment), respectively 16 years of imprisonment, as a result of the main punishment – 35 years of imprisonment. On the basis of Art. 60 C. handle. admits that the imposed sentence exceeds the total maximum term of 30 years of imprisonment, in connection with which the defendant will serve the main imposed sentence of 30 years of imprisonment. On the basis of Art. 45 par. (1) C. pen. imposes on the defendant, in addition to the assigned main punishment, the following additional punishment in the form of a ban on exercising the right to be elected to state authorities or to any other state positions, to hold positions related to the exercise of state powers, parental rights, the right to be a guardian or guardian, the right to communicate with the victims AN1 and AN2, to approach them, their home, workplace or school or other places where the victims carry out social activities, less than 200 m away, for a period of 5 years”, established in September by the Brasov court.

The Court of Appeal of Brasov rejected the appeal filed by Kostyantyn Zapan, thus upholding the decision of the Court of Brasov.
In the court hearings, the investigators established that “a 42-year-old man, using physical violence and threats, forced the minor victims one by one to have several sexual relations and acts while being in – a parking lot located on DN10, between the city of Intorsura Buzăului and the municipality of Buzău, as well as in the town of Valea Nicovani in the Prahova county.”
During the investigation, Kostyantyn Zapan confessed to his actions, claiming that he was drunk during the attack on the two girls. Then the children were removed from the family, DGASPC Brasov took over and involved them in a psychological counseling program.
In November 2022, the girls were taken from home by Kostyantyn Zapan, who was a friend of their mother’s concubine, to go to a barbecue at his house and play with other children. Later, since the girls did not return home, an abduction was announced, and a few hours later the girls were found in the Prahova district.
