
Heavy snow with a layer of snow on the road in the districts of Bistrita-Neseud – Pasul Tihuca, Maramures – Pasul Prislop, Suceava – DN 17 Vatra Dornei – Poiana Stampei, as well as on the A1 Sibiu – Deva highway, the Infotraffic Center reports on Saturday morning from the IGPR, writes news.ro.
“Currently, there are no traffic stops on the state highways due to adverse weather conditions or any road accidents. It is snowing with a layer of snow on the road in the counties: – Bistrita-Năsăud: DN 17 Pasul Tihuţa and DN 17C Dealul Ştefăniţei; – Maramures: DN 17 Pasul Prislop; – Suceava: DN 17 Vatra Dornei – Poiana Stampei, and also on the highway A1 Sibiu – Deva. Precipitation in the form of snow or sleet is in the mountainous area of Alba, Arad, Bihor, Brasov, Cluj, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Mehedinci counties,” reports the INFOTRAFFIC Center of the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police. .
Because of the wind, maneuvers in all Black Sea ports have been suspended.
Drivers are advised to familiarize themselves with traffic restrictions and weather conditions in the areas where they plan to drive, and to equip vehicles with winter tires before hitting the road, even if the chain requires it.
“Use extra caution when entering and exiting bridges or intersections with large vehicles and do not stop or stand near roadside trees that could be uprooted by high winds. Do not overtake convoys of vehicles and allow the approach of snow removal equipment!”, the message of the “Infotrafik” drivers says.
The ANM has issued a code yellow warning from Friday, 12:00 to Sunday, 10:00, as stronger winds are expected across the country, blizzards and quantitatively moderate snow in the mountains, blizzards in Maramures and Transylvania.
