Romania started 2023 ranked 52nd in the FIFA rankings, but went undefeated in UEFA EURO 2024 qualification and recorded a significant jump.

Romania, 43rd place in the FIFA ranking at the end of 2023

The “tricolor” will end 2023 in 43rd place in the FIFA hierarchy, the same place they occupied last month. This is Romania’s best ranking since 2021.

The top 10 remains unchanged, with Argentina (world champion), France (world vice champion) and England (European vice champion) on the podium.

Romania will play friendlies against Northern Ireland (72) and Colombia (14) in March 2024, before playing Belgium (4) and Slovakia (45) in their EURO 2024 groups (14 June – 14 July 2024).
