
A student who died after a partial collapse of a boarding school building in Odorhei Sekujesk, Harghita County, was found with the help of a rescue dog. They also used a thermal imager to find him, News.ro reported.
According to representatives of Salvamont Romania, 20 rescuers from the Salvamont service of the Harghita County Council participated in a search and rescue operation for victims in the boarding school building in Odorhei Secuiesc.
“In addition to the rescuers who participated in the search under the rubble, two more rescuers examined the area with the help of a drone with a thermal imager and a search dog Salvamont, the dog found the fourth victim,” the source said.
The boarding school building of Tamasi Aron High School in Odorhei Sekujesk, Harghita District, partially collapsed on Monday afternoon, trapping four students under the rubble. Two students were taken out conscious, another was given resuscitation measures, to which she responded.
All three were taken to the hospital, one of them was intubated. The fourth victim – a boy – was later pulled out, resuscitation measures were carried out, but to no avail, so he was pronounced dead.
