Taverna Racilor restaurant owner Paul Nicolau, known as Pescobar, says he did not have insurance for the restaurant on the shores of Lake Snagov, which was damaged by a major fire that broke out on Saturday.
The Emergency Inspectorate of Bucharest – Ilfov announced on Saturday evening that the fire that broke out on the roof of the restaurant has been extinguished and two special vehicles remain at the scene for observation.
Firefighters used 11 special vehicles to extinguish the fire. ISU Bucharest – Ilfov spokesman Daniel Vasile said that the wooden structure was almost completely destroyed by the fire.
Daniel Vasile said that Taverna Racilor did not have a fire safety permit.
- “The premises did not have a fire safety permit.
- During the inspections we carried out in May, when we carried out the last control there, a number of deficiencies were found and fines of 60,000 lei were imposed. 50,000 lei was the fine for not having a fire safety permit.
- Other violations related to the organization at the workplace were also detected,” ISU Bucharest Ilfov spokesman said.
Asked if the restaurant’s owner had tried to obtain a fire safety permit since the May inspection, Daniel Vasile said that to his knowledge, the restaurant does not have such a permit even now and has not applied for one. or any other steps to the ISU for that matter.
The owner of Taverna Racilor restaurants, Paul Nikolaou, known as “Pescobar”, says that he did not have insurance for the restaurant in Snagov.
“The location in Snagov caught fire, there is only material damage, the rest is fine. In a few months, it will be rebuilt from scratch and we will continue the wonderful story that began on the shores of Lake Snagov. PS The location had no insurance,” he said on Facebook.
On Saturday morning, he also responded to TikTok, saying he had “burnt everything down” and that only material damage had been done: “That’s it, it’s on fire, it’s fixed, life goes on.” “Pescobar” also reported that the restaurant had just been renovated “from scratch”.
In September, the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) announced that it had closed the Taverna Racilor restaurant in Herăstrău for a period of 6 months to a year after finding violations and applying fines to all the inspections they carried out over the summer. The ANPC, which made the announcement, posted images of rotting clams, moldy salmon and rusted tools in the restaurant’s kitchen. According to ANPC, the restaurant did not even have a permit from the city hall.
- VIDEO “Pescobar” contradicts ANPC: The tavern was closed for one day, three months ago. We sell 1000-1500 kilograms of fish and seafood every day
Also during this period, the ANPC announced that the Taverna Racilor restaurant in Timișoara was fined 15,000 lei by the consumer protection commissioners, who ordered a temporary suspension of operations, after they found fish and seafood stored in unhygienic conditions or kept thawed in boxes containing liquid drained from defrosting. As a result of the inspection, it turned out that the restaurant is operating without a permit from the Timisoara City Hall, ANPC reports.
