On Saturday, Bulgarian media published new information about the Romanian man who tried to kill his ex-wife at a beauty salon in Ruse, Bulgaria, reporting that the man had a criminal record but had been released from prison for good behavior.
According to Bulgarian media cited by Digi24.ro, after being sentenced to 6 years in prison for human trafficking, the man was extradited to Romania in 2018 to serve his sentence, but was later released for good behavior.
After the assassination attempt, his ex-wife is in hospital in critical condition and needs blood.
The attacker committed suicide in the woman’s car, where he was found by the police.
Journalists from Bulgaria write that the reason for the aggression was jealousy, and the relationship between them had been tense for a long time. They had two children together.
After shooting the woman, he took his own life in a bizarre way
The Bulgarian press reported on the case on Friday when it announced that a Romanian citizen shot his girlfriend in the city of Ruse and was found dead in the woman’s car shortly after.
It all happened on Thursday evening, when the man came to the salon, where the woman with whom he had two children worked as a manicurist, and shot her with a gun that he illegally possessed. He used to beat her.
The woman was found unconscious, handcuffed and taken to the hospital in serious condition, where she was operated on. The police were notified by the mother of the woman who stopped answering the phone.
Police found the man in the woman’s car almost two hours after the incident. He was dead. Police say he committed suicide by inhaling exhaust fumes.
According to the Bulgarian police, the man is 46 years old and a citizen of Romania. A weapon was also discovered – a “Makarov” pistol, which is illegally owned by a Romanian citizen.
According to the authorities of the neighboring country, the man had no criminal record in Bulgaria, but during the checks it was established that in 2018 the Ruse Prosecutor’s Office executed a European arrest warrant issued by the Romanian judicial authorities. He was sentenced to six years in prison for human trafficking.
