Filling up the fuel tank is never very pleasant. And for good reason, you need to take the time to find a gas station and then wait a few minutes in the cold to fill up. Not to mention, of course, the price, which tends to rise significantly over the years. And, obviously, the experience is even worse when you can’t find gasoline and diesel due to shortages. This is exactly what happened last week when the gas station ran out of stock.

The situation is under control

Indeed, the latter were directly affected by the strike, this time fuel tankers. Thus, they blocked two depots located in Ile-de-France, namely in Gennevilliers (Hauts-de-Seine) and Coignières (Yvelines). The goal? Protest against the installation of surveillance systems in heavy-duty transport of subcontractors. In fact, CGT mentioned cameras that “film the interior of cabs and drivers, as well as exterior cameras.” The trade union then condemned the “questioning of freedoms”.

The event has been cancelled

from my side, TotalEnergies claimed that it was merely “a sensor installed in the cabin” to “warn the driver when he is tired, drowsy, or inattentive.” The company “does not require the recording, storage or transmission of images.” But faced with the wrath of the subcontractors, the latter eventually relented and canceled the measure. Thus, fuel supplies were restored throughout the Île-de-France, and the tanks were filled again. Thus, the consequences of this strike will not be felt in the near future.
