
Energy Minister Sebastián Burduya asked Hidroelectrica to speed up work on the Pashkani hydroelectric plant in Iași County, where work began in 1985. More than 400 million lei were invested here, another 60 million euros and 30 million lei for the expropriation of a plot of land with an area of more than 2,000 hectares, according to News.ro.
- “Today I am at the Hidroenergetica construction site in Pashkan, another project started before 1989, in the blessed year of 1985. The project here, this reservoir under development is at 80 percent completion stage, it will have a capacity of 68 million cubic meters of water. They are located near the Siret River, and a hydroelectric plant of about 10 megawatts will be installed here, and it is at the level of 80 percent,” said Sebastian Bourduya.
The Minister of Energy also mentioned the amounts spent so far, as well as those that are planned to be spent.
- “From 1985 to today, the Romanian state has spent about 400 million lei here. To complete this work, we still need about 60 million euros, as well as about 30 million lei for the expropriation of these lands. It is about an area of 2,300 hectares. If everything goes according to plan, we will have time in a few months, by the middle of next year, to alienate what has been impossible for decades, these more than 2,000 hectares, and in the first half of 2026, all the work will be done. be ready,” Burduja said.
According to the minister, the investment will mean the production of green energy, as well as the reduction of flood risks.
