07:18A draft resolution submitted to the WHO by 17 member states and Palestine with special status demanded on Friday that Israel fully honor its obligations to protect medical and humanitarian personnel in the Gaza Strip, which is under intense bombardment by the Israeli army, reports AFP.
The text is due to be considered on Sunday during a special session of the World Health Organization’s Executive Board convened to discuss “the health situation in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem.”
The draft resolution was presented by Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Bolivia, China, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Morocco, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Tunisia, Turkey and Yemen.
