Calvin Phillips, a €49 million flop

Calvin Phillips has been snapped up by Manchester City for €49m after some incredible performances for Leeds United, but the Englishman has failed to confirm Pep Guardiola’s command.

The England international midfielder, now 28, has struggled with his weight since arriving at the Etihad Stadium and has since made just 29 appearances for the Premier League champions.

The current coach of the winner of the UEFA Champions League, Pep Guardiola, has announced that he will leave the team this winter.

“I feel so sorry for Calvin. I’m visualizing something, but I’m trying to find a place for it in the team, that’s all.

I need a personality, a character, and he is the perfect example. I’m sorry,” said the Manchester City coach.

According to Transfermarkt, Calvin Phillips is the focus of attention from Newcastle United, as well as Juventus Turin.
