The Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic and the Chiron Super Sport are two icons of their time, even if they are separated by almost a century.
These two models are united by the new Chiron Super Sport 57 One of One, a unique product created by the Custom department, inspired by the immortal Bugatti of the 1930s and she was destined to become the future queen of the Concours d’Elegance.
Everything is in the details
The Chiron Super Sport was based on the Type 57 SC Atlantic on display at the Mullin Automotive Museum in Oxnard. The silver and blue color scheme was taken directly from the Type 57, while many other details pay modern homage to the original car.
The Chiron Super Sport features five-spoke wheels with chrome and blue accents, and the lower part of the rear wing features a hand-painted Atlantic silhouette, complete with ’57’ and ‘One of One’ numbers.
The grille combines the aerodynamic requirements of the French hypercar with a delicate neo-retro design, a new grille with polished vertical lines and a wider central section.
The past combined with the present
Inside, the customer chose ‘Gaucho’ leather, which echoes that of the Type 57. The Type 57 silhouette is hand-stitched in ‘Lightning Blue’ on the door panels and center console with a personalized ’57 One of One’ inlay. “.
Rembrandt Bugatti’s iconic dancing elephant sculpture is embroidered on the headrests, and the signatures of Rembrandt and Jean Bugatti (the latter the “father” of Atlantique) are affixed to the inner handles.
Apparently, this specimen is unique in the world, and we do not know the amount paid by its owner. We only know that the car has already been delivered to the western United States.
