HUAWEI has taken on a mission to continue researching the health monitoring algorithm using its technologies in the wearable segment. The company’s vision is simple: intelligent multidimensional health information should be available to everyone. In order to provide users with the best experience, HUAWEI not only produces smart devices, but also makes great progress in their research and development. The tech giant has three laboratories where experts from different fields make new discoveries, and recently launched a study on the benefits of smartwatches for users. A survey conducted by Ipsos in eight European countries, including Romania, revealed useful data on citizens’ knowledge and good practices regarding healthy behaviour.
HUAWEI and investments in technologies dedicated to health
Special hardware sensors are the basis of HUAWEI smartwatches’ performance monitoring capabilities. They have been continuously improved to provide smaller dimensions, reduced consumption and increased accuracy. Sensors on HUAWEI devices use two main detection technologies: TruSeen for monitoring vital signs and TruFit for monitoring indicators related to sports activity. Other state-of-the-art solutions such as TruSleep for sleep or TruRelax for mindfulness take the user experience to a new level. Although HUAWEI wearable devices are not medical devices, certain hardware and software elements have been certified by medical institutes around the world.
In addition, HUAWEI has three laboratories around the world, two opened in 2016 in Xi’an and Songshan Lakes in China, and one opened this year in Helsinki, Finland. The Finnish Health Laboratory has a multidisciplinary research group consisting of six doctors of science, 20 experts from five main fields – physiology, artificial intelligence, machine learning, software testing and software development – from seven European countries. of the Union These aspects ensure that every area of sports and health research achieves the highest global standards. Given the growing demand in the health and fitness market, HUAWEI aims to continue its research into health monitoring algorithms through its wearable technology.
