The range of coupes and cabriolets at Mercedes has decreased significantly in recent years. The new Mercedes CLE is in the middle between the C-Class and E-Class, which no longer have the right to coupe and cabriolet versions from the last generations.

Until now, the model range was based on the 381 hp version of the 450, equipped with a 3.0-liter six-cylinder turbo engine. But in the first quarter of 2024, a new high-end version will be added to the star manufacturer’s catalog with the new Mercedes-AMG CLE 53, presented here in an “all black” version.

450 hp + 23 hp electric

The CLE 53 doesn’t go unnoticed, especially with the heavily flared fenders that add 58mm at the front and 75mm at the rear. Extending the fenders allows you to place 20-inch rims.

Under the hood, the CLE AMG 53 received a six-cylinder turbo engine 450 horsepowereverything is equipped with a small electric motor 23 horses. The fully adjustable AMG Ride Control suspension combined with rear-wheel steering gives the CLE undeniably amazing maneuverability despite its two-tonne weight. The rear wheels can turn in the opposite direction at low speed and in the same direction at higher speeds.

Sports and technological coupe

Inside, we usually find the cabin of the more classic versions, with an instrument system based on a 12.3-inch screen and an 11.9-inch vertical central panel.

The infotainment system supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with the ability to install external apps including TikTok, Zoom and Webex. Artificial intelligence is ubiquitous on board; the car can, for example, suggest that you wish someone from your contacts a happy birthday.

Mercedes has not yet presented a price list for its novelty, but undoubtedly the car should cost well over 100,000 euros, not including the environmental fine in France. Because yes, even if it is equipped with microhybridization, its weight will be related to its plumage.
