Turkish Air Force F-16s landed in Romania on Thursday to carry out NATO-led enhanced air policing missions, the Ministry of National Defense said.
Four F-16 aircraft belonging to the Turkish Air Force landed on Thursday at the 86th Air Force Base “Lieutenant Aviator Gheorghe Mochornica” in Borc, MApN reported.
The detachment, consisting of approximately 80 military personnel (pilots and technical personnel) and four F-16 aircraft, together with the Romanian Air Force, will carry out enhanced air patrol missions under the command of NATO.
Joint air police missions contribute to the development of response and deterrence capabilities, as well as strengthening interoperability between the Romanian Air Force and the Turkish Air Force.
